Hurricane Charley approaches Florida. Hurricane Charley is seen just west of Fort Myers, Florida at 3:15 PM EDT. At 2:00 PM EDT, The National Hurricane Center reported winds estimated to 145 mph near the eye of the storm. Movement was to the north-northeast at 20 mph.
