Barkskeppet FIDES, votivskepp i Kristinestads nya kyrka, modell av Jouni Harju.

Barkskeppet FIDES byggt i Kristinestad 1857 av Närpes store skeppsbyggmästare Anders Granskog är sedan april 2000 votivskepp i Kristinestads nya kyrka. Modellen är gjord av sjökapten Jouni Harju, Kristinestad. Modellen och den ambulerande utställningen om FIDES dramatiska skeppsbrott den 22 maj 1860 vid Kangaroo Island, Australien har nyligen (år 2000) kommit hem från Åland för att stanna i Kristinestad för gott.

On 3 July 1999 in the old Kristinestad school building in Finland, the Fides exhibition was launched in front of 120 Finnish, Swedish and Australian representatives. The exhibition was part of the official celebrations for the 350th anniversary of the city. [PDF]NEWSLETTER
