I am searching for my great grandmother's history in Finland. She was born July 22nd, 1884 as Anna Helena Jaakola. Jacob as her father. Kempele listed as the parish.
I am interested in learning who her parents were and her siblings. All information on birth, confirmations, deaths, marriages, etc. is greatly appreciated.
Anna left Finland for the USA in November of 1902 as a single 18 year-old girl.
I still have not found a viable email address to the Kempele parish.

The culture secretary in Kempele have the name Maija Jaakola, maybe she
is your relative? Try to write an e-mail to her... maija.jaakola@kempele.fi
. If she is not from the same family I believe she can help you with more
information about Kempele. I am not sure that the family name Jaakola
from the beginning came from Kempele. On the website for The Genealogical
Society of Finland - HisKi project ( http://www.genealogia.fi/hiski/atu4qx?en+A17
) you find more Jaakola in the neighbour parish Limingo/Liminka and Oulunsalo.
Maybe Anna Helena Jaakola, a crofter’s daughter, was a member of a new
family in Kempele? If you get information from church books in Kempele
about her parents, maybe also their parents, it not will be hard to find
more about her in the Hiski project.
